- Due to the constantly changing conditions caused by the pandemic, the contribution of c/o now as one of three partners - beside Metalab (Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) and Meleem (Skopje, North Macedonia) of the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial is also subject to constant change. The original intention was to make a “Untitled Film” based on the biography of Olga Ivanovna Lazović, which was intended to remove exotic clichés that blur our view of what we have in common. Even before the pandemic forced them to do so, c/o now started to shift Lucius Burckhardt’s Strollology into the digital space – following the traces of Lazović in Tbilisi. The so-called Googlewalks, which were undertaken for this purpose, became the basis of what can be seen in the “Pre-Biennial-One-Minute-Videos” dealing with various topics threatening remaining commons. They were produced during the "Lockdown Phase" in March, April and May and form the background against which c/o now will be holding talks with various people over the extended Biennial – on various topics relating to the Biennial’s question “What do we have in common?” These discussions will be processed in a film of the same title which will premiere in the summer of next year 2021 as part of the second phase of the so-called “TAB Berlin Pav”.

To whom it may interest, this paragraph might actually say more then the little film it accompanies. But as this is a cold boot of what we are doing for @tbilisiarchitecturebiennial since in autumn we were asked to collaborate with and to contribute to the 2020 edition, this might need some explanation. Immediately we started to search our way into thinking about the question raised by TBA #whatdowehaveincommon by doing #googleurbanism or whatever you want to call it, with the goal of producing a hand full of series consisting of episodes of each 60seconds. We are not going to say too much about this as we hope things will become clearer for you and us as well with the upcoming episodes. We apologize to everyone familiar with the Georgian language. As we will never understand #თბილისი , #საქართველო or any other conglomerate of #people by doing a little #urbanresearch here and a little #googlewalk there, we thought it will only be consequent if we do not try to disguise that and let #google also do the translations. Fully aware this might cause irritation, we understand this as a typical #lostintranslation -moment which is part of the game from our point of view. There will be stuff in September/October. Lookout! But why the cold boot with a preview series now? Since Friday the 13th we have the privilege to be able to stay at home (others must go outside to earn there living every day). Googlewalking Tbilisi is the only time we leave the flat beside going to the supermarket… :wink: While there is daily as nothing ever has happened, there are so many new questions beside “what do we have in common”. There is a lack of ability to imagine the future – even more our presence. We have to be prepared for a #dayafter , we have to start to get conscious again. Therefore, we felt we want to go out with a special series-format called “Sakhli Opisi” – at least we thint that’s Georgian an means #homeoffice – that starts month before the TBA in September/October 2020: NOW! Stop making sense – from now on it’s up to the episodes!
